Last Saturday, after finally planning to revive the website, we wrote a detailed review and analysis of The Big Shanivaar event. It's Sunday today, so as promised, we are launching our new weekly reviews of shows as articles on this website.
This article would cover Punyashlok Ahilyabai, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, HERO: Gayab Mode On, Ziddi Dil Maane Na, Wagle Ki Duniya, Tera Yaar Hoon Main and Maddam Sir in detail, and Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Anupamaa briefly.

If Malhar Rao & Khanderao's relations were so bad in the past, still they shouldn't be glorified to this extent in the show. Of course they need to inform their viewers, but that doesn't mean it becomes the whole theme of the show.
We are not very excited for the next week of this show, but we will keep you covered. And oh, that reminds, Ahilya has completed 200 episodes, so huge congratulations! Apart from the story which sometimes goes off to the woods, this show is a great show in general.
Anyways, apart from the writing, the acting and execution of this show has always been good enough, so we would give it 5/10. As per you, what should be the rating of this show? Do not hesitate to comment below!
Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2

This week was a great start for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. Fans who were complaining about the never ending marriage sequence must be overwhelmed now as the track has finally ended and guess what! Ram & Priya are finally married! The 'huge discovery' by Priya's father was that he was the 'Ravan' himself who killed Ram's father and the accident wasn't really an accident. In a very typical ITV way, Ram-Priya burned the symbolic Ravan indicating that they may confront Priya's father in future about this. Rest of the show was mostly drama, where Ram's car breaks down and they both stay in the Sood house, and then Akshay goes missing. This is because of the most terrible people in this show: Nandini and Shubham (and their puppets Mamaji and Mamiji). Priya's video might have got deleted but Adi saw Priya in a not-so-good place with Neeraj: that whole scene was so unwanted! Why are they promoting Neeraj's character so heavily? He doesn't even have any important role in the story. And woah! Nandini is such a great actor (We're not talking about the actor who plays Nandini, we're talking about Nandini the character itself)! What emotional melodrama she did soaking Ram completely in emotions and actually trying to drown him. Shubham is such an emotionless person. Nandini doesn't care about Ram, or even her 'own' children Shubham and Shivina. First she was 'selling' Shivina and now she is playing mind games with Ram. Anyways, Priya came to Ram's house in a very heroic, stylish 'Devi' type, very ITV entry and fixed all the mess created by Nandini.
Akshay cancelled the contract and refused to shoot because he doesn't care about anything more than Shivina, but Shivina realised the importance of the opportunity Akshay has got (did she actually realise or Nandini filled something into her head? Because she is so dumb that if she herself realised this then it would be a great achievement for her. Comment down what you think!)
The story was again not very impressive but not bad as well, because the show is still in its introductory phase and whatever is happening would actually contribute to the future story of the show. (Like setting up a foundation)
The performances of all the actors are great.
We'd give a 6 out of 10, and comment what you feel about this show!
Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi 3

Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi 3 | © SonyLIV |
We are not covering the summary of the show, as something is wrong with the makers. Despite all the criticism, low viewership and even the most loyal & staunch fanbase of this show moving away, the makers definitely don't seem in a mood to revert the mess they've created.
There's some internal politics in the channel as Sony, the channel which literally ends every show ABRUPTLY when even some decimal points of viewership decrease, they are not concluding this season nor are they even trying to order the makers to fix the story.
Sanjana is now the 'obsessed' girl who is trying to (murder?) Sonakshi, and Sanjana already vowed to destroy her life.
This season is an official insult to the people who are spending all their efforts into it (like the entire cast & crew of the set), and even more to the people who spent efforts into making KRPKAB 1 & 2 cult classics and MEMORABLE shows.
Last week, there was a Twitter trend, #NoEricaNoKRPKAB where almost all viewers wanted Erica to continue playing Sonakshi or just an off air of this show. We conducted a twitter poll where most people wanted Sonakshi (Erica) and a story tweak.
Although it is a request from our side, please do NOT troll Sana for playing Sanjana! Seriously, commenting on her posts is like the most ignorant thing anyone could ever do. She is just playing her character and following what the production house has told her to do! If she would have refused this character, someone else would have taken it. There is no shortage of actors. She is just following her script and people should just STOP trolling the actress for her role. There is a difference between constructive criticism (feedback) of someone's acting and going into their accounts to troll that person and asking them to 'leave the hell from that show' or whatever.
This season is also proving that a bad script outweighs the acting. Even if Shaheer & Erica are giving their best, since the script is bad, people are just not watching the show. (An exception is Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin whose viewers don't seem to care about the script and only watch it for the leads)
What do you think about Kuch Rang season 3? The best few comments may be screenshotted and posted into next week's review (if we cover KRPKAB again, mostly we won't unless the story improves).

HERO Gayab Mode On

HERO: Gayab Mode On | © SonyLIV |
Interruption from the future: Something is wrong with Sony SAB. HERO: Gayab Mode On will be shifted to 11.30 PM; and Maddam Sir will be shifted to 7.30 PM & get repeated at 10.30 PM. Instead of shifting HERO: Gayab Mode On to 7:00 PM or 11:00, for some reason it is shifted to 11:30. We are still unable to identify any strategic reason behind this, it could be internal politics of the channel, but let's see what happens, if they have a plan. Mark our words, this decision is temporary. They are probably doing this because the replacement show is not ready.
HERO: Gayab Mode On had a lot to show this week. All the episodes this week were decently interesting. The whole week was packed with twists & turns. Veer kills the commissioner (he wanted to kill the Asur: the pawn of Shukracharya but the Asur was in the commissioner's body so the commissioner also died.)
With this, he completed all three triangles and HERO fully evil. However, Aditi & Bantu save Veer by injecting Amrit into him. Veer sacrifices the ring to save Aditi from Shukracharya. What happens next is overwhelming! Veer goes Will you marry me to Aditi and she agrees? This twist was good but it wasn't actually. The Aditi who was hating Veer till episode 212 agreed to marry Veer and was eating Pani puri with him in episode 222. This seemed too rushed, it could have been more subtle. It should never be so fast.
Another development we liked was HERO's entity without his ring. The ring and HERO are finally one and the same thing, which means Shukracharya can never do any harm to Veer now. The ring has always been the element of utmost importance in the show and merging it with Veer is a good decision.
Now it will be interesting to see if Veer tells Aditi about his new powers and will Aditi accept him being a superhero?
Comment down your opinion for the show.

Ziddi Dil Maane Na

Ziddi Dil Maane Na | © SonyLIV |
This is a FANTASTIC show. Recent episodes' quality has set the standards too high. The depth in each & every scene is flawless. With the organ trafficking track cadets got a chance to prove themselves.
The stunts are so smooth yet amazing.
Ziddi Dil definitely deserves more recognition than the shows which actually are. The show is finally out of the introductory phase and everything about it is going amazing. The concept is evolving just so much better and the show has taken a great pace now. Monami - hats off to her dedication. The way she was confident about saving the people of the hospital, and the way she risked her own life to save her patients. She is definitely someone who knows her duties well. We are loving how makers are shaping her character. She is no longer a cry baby and she is doing really good.
So this story started with Monami figuring out there is a huge organ trafficking racket going on in the hospital and then without thinking twice she jumped into it and made it her mission. Sid Ganju arrived sometime and then did the special agents & other cadets. The intensity of the scenes, the level of it was almost reaching a high budget web series. Each and every scene was so well-written and well-executed. And at last, the walk with which they came out of the hospital after their victory would make you go crazy.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

First things first: We would appreciate the makers for two things: giving a social message, and then ending a story in 10 days. (10 days is a lot as per other show standards, but it is a relief as per TMKOC never-ending) standards.
What we really liked were the performances. When Goli was giving away his laptop, the expression which came on his face was really (comment down what you think)! He as a character has evolved a lot from an irritating kid who had to be told Goli beta Masti nahi to someone more intense. Although what he did was 100% wrong, we liked the depth in the scenes.
But the biggest problem was the fact that the way the entire story was implemented. TMKOC has always followed a mechanism of making mistakes - learn from the mistake - never do it again. However, the problem sometimes is that the Tapu Sena repeats the same thing again and again. The family is trying to teach the lesson of responsibility to them for the past 13 years by now but they won't listen. Most of them are 20+ at this point but they are shown as 12 year old and Gogi is literally shown as a 5 year old kid. They keep making mistakes and then figuring out ways to get away with it, then everyone catches them and scold them. Two months later, they would commit more similar mistakes.
We think that they should, for once, be shown the actual importance of everything. Instead of merely scolding them and explaining to them that they did wrong, they should have a realisation that they need to be more careful. In TMKOC everytime the ending is 'happy' which isn't realistic. For example, in Wagle Ki Duniya, when Vandana made the mistake of falling into an online fraud trap once, they actually lost the money and their whole budget was shaken up. Even in Maddam Sir, every thief is not just beaten up and scolded but there is always a drama set up where the thiefs are put into the situation and shown the importance of everything. We are not saying that something wrong should happen with the characters of TMKOC, but just for some moments they should be made to imagine what they did was wrong.
Sapna track will be updated next week.

Wagle Ki Duniya

THE best show this week. There was a lot which we loved and we are sure you would have loved too!
Episodes 168 & 169 were the best episodes and they are definitely a must watch. You have to see them.
We have always heard about 'Dadaji ki property' which goes to children. In modern times, there are many working women who earn a lot of money and can pass it on to their children. But what about homemakers? Are they of no use? Do they have no property?
In these two beautiful episodes of this masterpiece gem, Vandana stated that 'the biggest dharohar of a woman is her identity - her wajood. It can come in so many forms. It is not just about the money someone may have or the cooking skills of someone. The Wagle Ki Duniya team has paid attention to the smallest details and wonderfully executed that. We were initially curious about how they execute this as it is a sensitive topic (which is why we didn't tweet about the story that day) and yes, they proved that they have very sensibly shown what they could. Indian television is reaching new heights of progressiveness all thanks to these shows which contribute towards it.
Episode 167 was also there but we felt that 168 & 169 stole the show so writing them before was of most importance. In episode 167, Garba with social distancing was shown. Another social message given was the fact that parents need to trust their children. It was also a good episode. However, we feel some more elements could be better like Raj didn't do something perfect by making Harshad spy on the children and he deserved a little more confrontation.
Episode 171 was another gem. Remember the online fraud that happened with Vandana? This time she will be fooled again. Further details & review for this story will come in next week's article.
For episode 170 this page will be updated soon.

Tera Yaar Hoon Main
Tera Yaar Hoon Main | © SonyLIV |
The episodes were mostly fine this week.
But it looked like a clear vision for the show was not there. Like every show has a main intent and a main moral, but here it looks like many things are being mixed up together, whatever the writers are coming up with is being shown without linking the intent of the show.
Still, DESPITE that, there is a strange, unexplainable pleasure & homeliness you get by watching the show. It is either because of the great performances of the actors, or maybe the background music or the sets or whatever, anyone who watches Tera Yaar Hoon Main would suddenly feel good.
The week started with Rajeev realising Mamta's intention. They have taken a decent topic but the way they tried to promote it was not good. They were showing triangles and what not whereas the ground reality is completely different. Now, they have released a stupid promo where Mamta smirks and says 'baccha chahiye mujhe' and Daljeet looks completely shocked and it seems like Daljeet is trying to 'compete' with Mamta or something. The person who is preparing these promos has either lost their senses or is drinking & writing up promos. We could recommend our viewers to just avoid watching promos of this show and enjoy the episodes which are way different from what is being shown in the promos. Mamta wants Rajeev to donate to her using IVF. There is no 'triangle' or something. Rajeev & Daljeet got extremely angry with Mamta for this and Rajeev went on to remove Mamta from his life. But then, Twinkle had an accident and could die but Mamta came and saved him risking her life, so Daljeet's impression about Mamta got massively changed. Daljeet discovered the Mamta inside Mamta and said, "aapke paas ek maa ka dil hai Mamta ji". Mamta has gone through various 'roop parivartan-s'. First, she was shown as someone who would repair Daljeet & Rajeev's relations, then she became somewhat a competitor to Daljeet, then a bad character who should have been removed from the show and then someone really that good who risked her life to save Twinkle. Reminds us of the meme 'Arey kehna kya chahte ho!'
Trishala & Laksh have their own set of problems now. Just like Mamta, Laksh's character has also been completely changed (Lot of Roop parivartan-s, we told you!).
Lakshya is now a 'bad person' and guess what: SHAKTI's 'evil' background music is being played for Lakshya!? He is no longer trusting Trishla, arguing with her every now and then, showing a bad attitude and he crossed all possible limits, he called Trishla to a remote place, physically hurt her and then left her behind and went away? Terrible, Laksh. He seriously left Trishla on a remote road. Laksh is an insult to his mother Shobha Roy (activist, feminist and what not), should be removed from the show and put behind bars.
Never mind, Tera Yaar Hoon Main makers have a different way of executing this. Trishla has to go for 6 months for an internship, so Rajeev has halted the wedding and Laksh is given 6 months to prove himself to the Bansal family. He has to gain back Bansals' trust and then accordingly win back their trust. We liked this concept.

Shubh Laabh

Shubh Laabh | © SonyLIV |
This week for Shubh Laabh was again a passive one, but it was still very watchable just like the previous weeks. Shubh Laabh is a show which lacks a strong grip and writing, but still it is not like the typical shows, because you don't feel dumb while watching this show. You can just keep watching the show, and you will like & dislike it together.
Let's talk about Savita (this week & always):
What we like about her is that she is not a perfect character. The beauty is in the fact that she isn't a perfect bahu, perfect maa who does everything just right. She has her own flaws, but then like the other shows she isn't an evil witch. She is just like, a normal human who can be wrong at times.
BUT this doesn't mean that she does what she is doing right now. Why is she not able to realise what she is doing is wrong? Why is she seeing everything but blind to her own son? Her character needs to be a bit more 'strong' as she keeps becoming weak.
(At the first glance, you may find the two statements contradicting. As a matter of fact, they aren't. If you re-read them and try to understand our point, you will get it.
Secondly, they should not stretch the Preeti track. It is unnecessarily never ending. She is a good example of 'too good means bad'. We expect everyone to understand this as well within the next few weeks, and if they don't, then it would be a disappointment from the makers' side. Jay Production is the production which can produce a very 'normal' concept like the one of Maddam Sir and then make it a masterpiece with execution quality, but then produce a strong concept like Shubh Laabh and mess it up with poor execution.
Thirdly, why can't Vaibhav take a stand for himself? It was good that Lakshmi made him realise what is good and what is not, but still, he needs to be strong enough to speak up in front of his family. Shreya confessed to him but he could neither say yes/no to her nor was he able to talk to his family.
This week, Vaibhav caught the thief who was actually Shreya's manager and then went away without taking the prize.

Anupama (Anupamaa)
Anupama | © Disney+Hotstar We won't go into details of the show. If you are a fan, you can immediately close the tab. |
All we will say after watching the episodes last week is: Stop torturing the viewers.
End this pointless track now, take Anupama out of that disgusting Shah house and give her a healthy life (either by herself, or with Anuj or whatever, but please, stop this Shah house taunt nonsense). Even her friend Devika said that Anupama can simply just walk out of that place. Vanraj has no right to make her life hell that's it.
Last week, we tweeted about how the show is becoming progressive, and that finally Disney/Star India is getting better, but alas, this week proved that Star Plus will forever remain Star Plus.
